1983 Mountain Goat

Back Home Up Next

One of our neatest bikes from my personal favorite bike maker.  This one features pretty typical components for the era, a few of the parts converted from touring use (TA cranks, Mafac brakes) as well as the beginnings of mountain bike specific parts (Suntour XC pedals and post, M700 levers, Suntour thumb shifters).   The frame uses an oval shaped top tube and down tube which creates a very unique looking frame.  The frame has a very subtle two tone effect around the tube intersections which is difficult to see in the pictures.  Also pictured below is the unique Mountain Goat fork crown and the one piece bar and stem combo.
