1990 Nishiki Alien

Richard Cunningham designed some bikes for Nishiki using the elevated chain-stays that bolted to a rectangular aluminum main frame.  This was a mass-produced version of his custom Mantis bikes.  The Aliens really put Nishiki and the map for a couple of years but they faded somewhat when the elevated stays became less fashionable.  I think just about everyone who was cycling at the time remembers when these bikes came out.
