1992 Mantis Flying V

Back Home Up

The Flying V featured a monocoque aluminum front section joined to a cro-moly rear end via 5 bolts.  This method of joining the frame gives the stiffness and lightweight of the aluminum front end with the compliance and clearance of cro-moly for the rear end.  This bike pre-dates most of the funky full suspension frames and must have looked mighty strange hitting the trails in the early 1990's.
