1989 Mountain Goat Deluxe

This bike is part of the MOMBAT collection and is NOT FOR SALE.  Please check out our Vintage Bikes for Sale page to see all of our current offerings.

As with many custom bikes, this one dates to 1989 by the serial number but parts are mostly 1990/1991 era.  Many of these frames were built earlier and may have hung around unpainted or un-built while they were looking for a new owner.  With the cleanliness of this bike, there is very little doubt that she wears her original parts.  The Deluxe model featured fillet brazed ovalized tubing produced by Phil Wood for Mountain Goat.  The paint definitely speaks to the era and the build is a pretty straight up Shimano Deore XT kit.  When we acquired the bike, it was wearing a set of Specialized Fat Boy slick tires which, judging by the wear and tear on the bike, were likely original equipment.
