1991 Carbonframes Onyx

Carbon fiber is relatively common these days but in the early 1990's there weren't many carbon fiber mountain bike options.  The frame uses interesting gussets for strength while the joints are made with extra carbon material.  It ends up being a very organic looking frame with the elevated stay taking advantage of the flexibility of the carbon fiber.  Supposedly, there were only about 8 of these frames made.  Campagnolo components were also fairly uncommon on mountain bikes so the combination of Campagnolo parts on an early carbon frame is doubly rare.
