Most folks are familiar with the older Manitou FS model that uses fork
legs for the rear suspension but haven't seen the second generation.
I have seen several different iterations of shocks on these frames.
This one uses a large elastomer chunk with a hydraulic damping unit in
the middle of the elastomer. The suspension linkage is
milled out like the first generation but it is not quite as artistic as
the earlier bikes. Magura brakes eliminate the need to cobble
together a rear cantilever mount that was almost always an issue on the
early fs bikes.
